Salary range: $90k - $114k/year

  • Pay incentive for specialty positions (Detective, SRO, FTO, K9 Handler)
  • Time off/annual leave: 152 to 272 hours depending on years of service
  • Ten (11) paid holidays/year
  • Health insurance, dental insurance, POST license renewal costs 
  • Uniform allowance of $925/year 
  • Fully equipped squad cars and equipment package that includes, duty gear, firearm, Taser, body armor, Body Worn Camera
  • Heated indoor garage for squad cars
  • Officers are permitted to work out while on duty in the departments well equipped on-site workout facility

    Timothy Hawkinson

    Sergeant

    Sergeant Hawkinson graduated from Winona State University and completed skills at Alexandra Technical College. He has worked for the Maplewood Police Department for over 16 years and has been a patrol sergeant for nearly 2 years. Sergeant Hawkinson currently supervises the Multicultural Advisory Committee, Chaplain Liaison and co-supervises the Recruiting Team.  He’s served as a Use of Force instructor for over 10 years and is a former Field Training Officer. He is currently assigned as an Afternoon Patrol Sergeant.
