Salary range: $90k - $114k/year
- Pay incentive for specialty positions (Detective, SRO, FTO, K9 Handler)
- Time off/annual leave: 152 to 272 hours depending on years of service
- Ten (11) paid holidays/year
- Health insurance, dental insurance, POST license renewal costs
- Uniform allowance of $925/year
- Fully equipped squad cars and equipment package that includes, duty gear, firearm, Taser, body armor, Body Worn Camera
- Heated indoor garage for squad cars
- Officers are permitted to work out while on duty in the departments well equipped on-site workout facility

Timothy Hawkinson
SergeantPhone: 651-755-6778Sergeant Hawkinson graduated from Winona State University and completed skills at Alexandra Technical College. He has worked for the Maplewood Police Department for over 16 years and has been a patrol sergeant for nearly 2 years. Sergeant Hawkinson currently supervises the Multicultural Advisory Committee, Chaplain Liaison and co-supervises the Recruiting Team. He’s served as a Use of Force instructor for over 10 years and is a former Field Training Officer. He is currently assigned as an Afternoon Patrol Sergeant.

Rachel Murray
SergeantPhone: 651-895-6968Sergeant Murray served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years prior to joining Law Enforcement. She was hired through the Pathways to Policing program in 2017 when it was first implemented in the state of Minnesota. She has worked for the Maplewood Police Department for nearly 7 years, serving in various positions including, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Street Crimes, STRIKE Team (Civil Unrest), Use of Force/Firearms instructor, FTO coordinator, and is currently one of the Sergeants in charge of Recruiting. Sergeant Murray is also involved in the Big Brother Big Sister program, and is a board member with the MN Asian Peace Officers Association. She is currently assigned as a Midnight Patrol Sergeant.

Mitchell Condon
Police OfficerPhone: 651-279-1263Detective Condon has been with the Maplewood Police Department for 5 years. He has served in the Street Crimes Unit, STRIKE team (Civil Unrest), Proactive Catalytic Converter Detail and is a Field Training Officer. Det. Condon is also a Star Chase Operator, Drone Pilot, and Honor Guard Member. He has participated in the Predatory Offenders Compliance team as well as been member of the Recruitment/ Strategic Planning Committee. Det. Condon is also involved in the MN Asian Peace officers Association, National Black Peace Officer Association, and active in Big Brother Big Sister program. He is currently assigned to Investigations as an Auto Theft Detective.

Tuoyer Xiong
Police OfficerPhone: 651-245-8281Officer Xiong is a St. Paul native, who started his career with the Maplewood Police Department as a Community Service Officer for two years before he was hired as a Police officer through the Pathways to Policing program in 2018. He currently serves as a Field Training Officer, is on the recruiting team, and is member of the MN Asian Peace Officer Association. Officer Xiong is currently assigned to midnight Patrol.

Noah Swetala
Police OfficerPhone: 651-888-1642Officer Swetala graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2017 and has been with the Maplewood Police Department since 2018. Officer Swetala was initially hired as a Community Service Officer, and was later hired as a Police Officer. He currently serves as a Field Training Officer, Drone Operator, Star Chase Operator, and is an Honor Guard member. He is also a part of the recruitment/strategic planning committee, Maplewood organization racial equity team, and a Chaplin liaison. He is currently assigned to Afternoon Patrol.

Jon Givand
Police OfficerPhone: 651-955-1690Officer Givand is a lateral hire with the Maplewood Police Department after 22 years of law enforcement employment. He worked 9 years with Washington County Corrections, and 13 years with Oak Park Heights Police Department, with the last six years as the position of Patrol Sergeant, responsible for all operations related to patrol. Previous additional assignments include department TZD coordinator, firearms instructor, and less lethal munitions instructor. Officer Givand graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with his accounting/Business Administration degree and earned his Supervisory Certificate from the BCA. He is currently assigned to Dayshift Patrol.

Johnny Yang
Police OfficerPhone: 651-802-3459Officer Yang was hired with the Maplewood Police Department in 2022. Prior to Maplewood, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Community Service Officer. Officer Yang is currently a Drone Operator. He is currently assigned to Midnight patrol.
