The primary purpose of using body-worn cameras is to capture evidence arising from police-citizen encounters. The Maplewood Police Department has finalized its Body-Worn Camera Policy.
During its time together, the Use of Force Workgroup researched and reviewed a broad range of departmental polices, including body worn camera use, bias-based policing, responding to persons in crisis, and requirements for the use of deadly force.
