Residential Licenses
Due to COVID restrictions, in-person Residential License applications are accepted by appointment only.

The office of the City Clerk issues various types of residential licenses and permits. License and permit requirements and fees vary. In this section, you will find a list of the licenses and permits issued through the Citizen Services Department at the City of Maplewood. Please refer to the City Code for complete information on a specific license or permit.

Block Party Permit
A Block Party permit is required of any person or business hosting a an event which requires the entire or portion of the surrounding road to be closed.

Dangerous / Potentially Dangerous Dog Registration
No person may keep a dangerous or potentially dangerous dog in the city of Maplewood unless the dog is registered with the City, in compliance with City Code requirements.

Dogs & Cats
A license is no longer required for Maplewood residents who keep dogs or cats on their property; however, there are other requirements/restrictions in place.

Motorized Recreational Vehicle License
A license is required of any person who owns and operates a recreational motor vehicle on private property, except as allowed by City Code.

Noise Control Waiver Request
A permit is required of any person or company who engages in an activity that causes or creates excessive noise or disturbance between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday, except as allowed by City Code.

Poultry Permit
A permit is required of any person keeping poultry on their property. Roosters are prohibited, and up to 10 poultry are allowed on any lot, in all zoning districts.
