Updates from Staff and Council:
Police Advisory Commission- As previously noted, staff has engaged the services of Chad Weinstein to help with Strategic Planning with the Police Advisory Commission. We are have met with Chad Weinstein and discussed potential changes to the PAC. A contract has been signed and Chad will be reaching out to PAC members to gain their thoughts and insights as to how we can make the PAC more effective and an asset to the police department.
Our plan is to begin this outreach in the next couple of weeks and we hope that PAC members and others are able to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns with Mr. Weinstein on how to improve the PAC. After gathering information from different stakeholder we will discuss the findings as a group in a facilitated discussion and consider next steps.
The City Council will be interviewed.
The League of Women Voters Roseville (LWV) hosted two candidate forums in the Maplewood City Council Chambers this week. One featured candidates for our city council and mayoral election, the other candidates for St. Rep seat 43B. Both were broadcast live on Channel 16 and the web, via Facebook Live. We thank the LWV for providing this opportunity to voters in our community and the candidates.
Watch either forum here: http://webstreaming.ctv15.org/typeview.php?regionid=61&typeid=23
They will also be rebroadcast on channel 16 Monday, Wednesday and Fridays starting next week at 8am. They will run back to back, leading with the council/mayor forum.
