Effective April 2, 2018: The passport execution fee has increased from $25 to $35, nationwide
The $10 execution fee increase only applies to U.S. passport applicants using the DS-11 form, such as first-time applicants over 16, children under 16, and applicants who re-apply after reporting their previous passport lost or stolen.

There are 2 types of Passports that U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for:
Passport Book - Can be used for land, air, and sea travel.
Passport Card - Can be used for land and sea crossings between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean only. Can not be used for international travel by air.
