Responsibilities

As the central point for employee relations, the Human Resource Department (HR) works hard to encourage, support and provide guidance to City staff, supervisors and managers on employee related issues. This includes:

  • Coordinating and facilitating recruiting efforts
  • Employee benefits
  • Safety and wellness programs
  • Training and development
  • Workers' compensation

For all City departments HR also oversees:

  • Employee compensation
  • Employee records management
  • Human resources technical and professional support
  • Job classification
  • Personnel policy administration
