60 Stories for 60 Years
On February 26, 2017, Maplewood, Minnesota will be 60 years old!
In anticipation of Maplewood’s 60th anniversary, local history buffs have teamed up to write one story each week for the 60 weeks leading up to the anniversary. Of course our history goes back much farther than 1957. So the stories will go farther back to intriguing or important people, places, and events in Maplewood history.
Stories will be released each Thursday, beginning January 7, 2016, on Twitter, Facebook, and Maplewood’s #60Stories webpage.
Follow the City of Maplewood twitter feed and watch for a Throw-Back Thursday history photo and link to the latest story.
Friend the City of Maplewood’s Facebook page, and follow the series.
Bookmark our this page to enjoy the weekly installation.
As you enjoy the stories, file away some of the more interesting snippets in your memory. Maplewood’s anniversary festivities in 2017 will include a History Trivia Contest – with prizes! -- based on these stories.
